About Wedgwood Swim Club

Wedgwood Swim Pool is a community swimming club with a friendly, family oriented atmosphere, a caring and safety-minded staff, and high quality swim programs. Membership includes 295 families and is full. Families desiring a membership must join the Waiting List.

Full membership status gives members unlimited swims during operating hours; reduced fee for lessons; the opportunity for children aged 5 through 18 to swim on the Team; participation in various social functions; permission to bring non-members as paying guests; and voting privileges.

Wedgwood Pool offers swim instruction to both members and non-members. Sessions run for two weeks, and each lesson is 30 minutes long. Schedules are available at the office or by clicking here.

Wedgwood Pool opens in mid May and closes for the season in mid September. The pool is open 7 days per week during this time. Swim team is held each weekday morning. Open swim is from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday through Friday, and noon until 9:00 PM on weekends. Adult lap swim is available during all free swim hours, as well as from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM Monday through Friday. "Family Hour", when children must be accompanied by their parent, is 5:30 - 7:00 PM Monday through Friday.

Wedgwood Swim Team has been a leader in the Northern Division of the Seattle Summer Swim League for nearly 30 years! All children between the ages of 5 and 18 with membership status, and who can swim 1-2 lengths of the pool are invited to join the team. Workouts are one hour in length, five days per week, beginning in early June and ending in early August. There are 7 dual meets, at least one championship meet for all swimmers, and an end of season Awards Celebration. For detailed swim team information click here.

A membership currently costs $1,700 the first season. (This includes: $650 membership fee reimbursed to the seller, $350 transfer fee retained by the pool, $700 annual dues.) The annual dues and any assessment are due by March 1st. Each spring members participate in work parties to spruce up the building and grounds for the summer.

In 2007 people waited 9.75 years before being offered membership. Membership sales vary from year to year and those getting on the list now will likely wait longer than 9.75 years before being offered a membership.
